If you're switching PCs or seeing a hardware-related error when starting the bot, you probably need to reset your HWID. Here's what it is and how to do it.
What is the HWID?
The HWID (Hardware ID) is a unique identifier generated from your computer's hardware. The first time you use Kingshot Bot, your license is automatically tied to this HWID.
This link prevents a single license from being used on several different machines at the same time: it ensures that only the registered device can run the bot with your subscription.
When do you need to reset your HWID?
You need to reset your HWID if:
- You're switching to a new computer
- You reinstall Windows
- You change major hardware components in your PC
- The bot displays a "Hardware ID mismatch" error or refuses to start on a different machine
How to reset your HWID
- Log in to your dashboard.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Find the Hardware ID (HWID) card, which shows how many resets you've already used this month.
- Click Reset HWID.
- Restart the bot client on the machine where you want to use it. The change takes effect immediately.
Monthly limit
To prevent abuse (such as sharing a license between several people), HWID resets are limited to 10 per month. The dashboard shows in real time how many you have left (for example "3 / 10").
If you reach this limit, you'll need to wait until next month or contact support on Discord if you have a genuinely urgent need.
Only one machine at a time
By design, a Kingshot Bot license can only be active on one machine at a time. If you regularly use several PCs (e.g. a desktop and a laptop), keep in mind that each machine switch uses up one HWID reset.
Need help?
If the bot still refuses to start after an HWID reset, check that your subscription is active in Billing, then contact support on Discord.
