Protection controls the bot's defensive reactions: activating a shield when your city is targeted, pulling gathering marches back before an enemy hits their tile, and relocating your city next to a bear trap or your alliance's territory.
The values in the screenshots below are one account's configuration, not the defaults. Each option's default is listed in the tables.
Shield (City Attack)

When an enemy city-attack march is inbound, the bot can activate a shield before it lands.
| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Auto-activate shield when city is targeted | Master switch. Activates a shield from a backpack item or the free storehouse shield before the attack impacts. | On |
| Buy shield with gems if no free shield available | If neither a free shield nor a backpack item is available, spends gems to buy and activate a shield in one step. This is opt-in because it spends premium currency without asking first — at most one purchase per shield window. | On |
| Buy duration | The shield length purchased when the option above kicks in: H2 (400 gems), H8 (1200 gems), H24 (4800 gems), or H72 (20000 gems). Only used while gem-buying is enabled. | H8 |
| Recall outgoing attack marches to shield | The game blocks shield activation while you have an outgoing attack march, en-route gather, or non-PvE rally out. This option recalls those marches first so the shield can still fire — it abandons your attacks to protect the city. Marches already in a warning zone can't be recalled and are never touched. | On |
Recall on Attack

| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Auto-recall gathering marches when their tile is attacked | When an enemy targets a tile your march is gathering on, recalls that march before impact to save the troops. | On |
| Seconds before impact | How many seconds before the attack lands the bot triggers the recall or shield. The bot always fires immediately once impact is 5 seconds away or less, regardless of this value, to absorb clock drift and last-second speedups. | 5 |
The in-app hint next to this field reads "(default 2)" — that's stale. The actual default, confirmed in the settings model, is 5 seconds.
City Relocation

Keeps your city teleported next to a chosen alliance building once it drifts too far away.
| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Relocate next to | Off, HQ, Bear1, or Bear2. HQ teleports next to the main hall using the server-placed Territory/Alliance Teleporter. Bear1/Bear2 use an Advanced Teleporter onto a free tile beside the corresponding bear trap, and do nothing if that building doesn't exist. | Off |
| Trigger distance (tiles) | Only relocates once the city is farther than this many tiles from the chosen target. | 20 |
Each relocate consumes a teleporter item, which is why the feature is off by default.
